The Atlantic, and other publications like it, are generally not worth the time it takes to read them but they do fill a need of knowing your enemy. It's a trade off. I like to think they grasp their pearls all the time because pearls represent resilience, strength and beauty and they are being choked by the thought of those things. It's a great mental image! Grasp away. Continue ignoring the fact that your angst is a result of your own creation and could be eliminated with just a modicum of honesty and humility. I expect neither.

They come across as terminally angry. That cannot be a good way to live. This week's near silence from people who spent months howling for an end to the fighting in Gaza has been priceless. I almost worry for their mental health once Trump moves to his next chapter. Almost.

Meanwhile, I'm regrouping a bit as far as this is concerned. My work schedule has been a bit busier than normal with some pre-dawn starts that sometimes leave me feeling mushy-headed when trying to string thoughts together. I'll get back into rhythm.

Not unlike the climate fanatics who are stone-silent when news comes out that, waddayaknow?!, Arctic ice is at record high levels! The ice caps *aren't* disappearing. Those sweet polar bears are doing just fine. Or having a benign hurricane season, contrary to their wailing about AGW ushering in more, and worse, storms.

You'd think they'd celebrate the good environmental news. But they don't. Because they don't GAFF about the environment.

They only care about tearing down Western Civ.

Good luck finding your new groove. It seems to be going around. I've wondered if it's the change of the seasons but I kind of doubt it. Daylight savings ends on 11/2 and that will be another adjustment for many. Glad I'm in AZ where we don't play that game.
